Chronic Low Back Pain
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 25% of adults have reported having low back pain within the last 3 months. Low back pain is the most common type of pain reported in the United States and while the majority of people will recover fully from low back pain within 12 weeks, 2-8% of individuals will go on to have chronic low back pain. Chronic low back pain is among the leading causes of disability in the United States and around the world. In this episode, we talk about the causes of chronic low back pain, diagnostic challenges, and the recent breakthroughs in our understanding of chronic pain and the best ways to go about treating chronic low back pain.
